Meet Our Staff

Orthodontics is something that can be truly life-changing. I am passionate about creating beautiful, healthy, functional smiles that will last a lifetime. I love looking back to the beginning of a patient’s journey through orthodontics, remembering where we started and seeing the look of happiness spread across their faces when they realize how far we’ve come.

My team is a reflection of what I believe orthodontics should be. Each team member is incredibly dedicated to delivering excellent orthodontic care with personal service unique to each patient depending on their needs. My team takes the time to give individual attention to each patient that walks in the door. They are fun and put every patient at ease as soon as they get to our office.

Education and Experience
A native of Fort Smith, Arkansas, I grew up around my father’s dental practice and later graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a Master of Science degree in Immunology. Following in my dad’s footsteps, I then went on to LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana. Receiving multiple awards for my research, I was able to represent the dental school at various national and international dental research conferences. During this time I was also one of approximately 30 dental students from around the nation to participate in the Junior COSTEP program through the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service and the Indian Health Services, where I provided dental care to the native Eskimo tribes in southwestern Alaska.

While in dental school I became excited by the orthodontic portion of my training and decided to pursue the field further. I was accepted by the University of Colorado Orthodontic Residency Program and graduated with my Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics.

Continuing Education
The field of orthodontics is always evolving and using advanced technologies and techniques is important me. It allows me to provide my patients with the newest and best care available. I regularly participate in continuing education courses including the Damon® Study Club, Invisalign®, comprehensive use of TADs, and soft tissue lasers.

Outside the Office
During my residency I decided to settle in this area with my lovely wife, Susan, and our four daughters, Hailey, Elle, Keira, and Harper! We also have two dogs. Ranger, our German shepherd and Stripe, a lab mix, who we rescued from a local animal shelter. Living in North Carolina, I am reminded of my home state of Arkansas, with the area’s beautiful and vibrant setting so perfect for raising our children. In my free time I can usually be found playing with my children outdoors, though I also enjoy playing golf as well as mountain biking, snow skiing, and traveling. I am an avid sports fan, especially of college football and basketball, and outdoorsman.

In the Community
I’m a family man and enjoy being part of the community I live and work in. It’s great to see my patients out in the community and seeing their smiles as they go about their daily lives. In addition to supporting local school programs and youth groups, our office currently has a program called Partners in Education. Every patient that brings in a card from their school and signs up with our office receives $100 off of their treatment and the school will get a $100 donation. We believe that education and a healthy, beautiful smile are the best gifts a child can receive. I also donate my skills as an orthodontist by providing free orthodontic treatment via the Smiles Change Lives program

Hi, I’m Nikki and have been working here at the office as an orthodontic assistant since 2010 after entering the dental field in 2006. My passion is to meet new people and assist them in achieving the smile they have always wanted.I moved from Indiana to Charlotte in 2009 and I try to get back to Indiana as often as I can to visit family and friends. In my spare time I enjoy voluntarily teaching people the Bible, traveling, and shopping.
